2

Sponsorship Rates by Subscriber Tier

Subscriber count is one of the primary signals brands use to tier their creator budgets. However, it is important to note that average views per video — not subscriber count — is the primary driver of actual sponsorship rates in 2026. A 50k-subscriber channel averaging 80k views per video will command higher rates than a 200k-subscriber channel averaging 8k views. The table below represents typical rate ranges for channels at each subscriber tier uploading consistently, with average engagement.

Rates shown assume a global audience mix, 3–6% engagement rate, and a 30-second mid-roll integration. For US-heavy audiences, multiply by 1.8–2.0×. For dedicated video placements, multiply by 2.0×.

Subscriber Tier Conservative Recommended Premium
1k – 10k $50 $100 $200
10k – 50k $200 $500 $800
50k – 100k $500 $1,000 $2,000
100k – 500k $1,000 $2,500 $5,000
500k – 1M $3,000 $6,000 $10,000
1M+ $8,000 $15,000 $25,000

30-second mid-roll integration. Global audience baseline. Tech niche CPM ($45). 3–6% engagement rate. Authority multiplier applied per tier.

The jump from the 50k–100k tier to the 100k–500k tier is particularly steep because of the authority multiplier: channels with 100k+ subscribers apply a 1.15× premium on top of all other factors. Combined with higher average views, creators at this threshold often double their per-video rate within six months of crossing 100k subscribers.

At the 1M+ level, rates compress on a per-view basis because mega-channels attract algorithm traffic (low-intent viewers) alongside loyal subscribers. Brands are aware of this dynamic and often negotiate harder with very large channels. The most efficient rate-per-view is typically in the 100k–500k tier, which is why mid-tier creators consistently outperform their subscriber count in deal value.

3

Sponsorship CPM by Niche (2026 Benchmarks)

Niche is the single largest determinant of sponsorship CPM on YouTube. A finance creator with 30,000 average views commands a rate nearly 5× higher than an entertainment creator with the same audience size — because the brands advertising in finance (fintech, investing platforms, credit cards) have dramatically higher customer lifetime values and are willing to pay a premium to reach financially-engaged audiences.

The CPM figures below represent market-rate pricing for 30-second integrations with a global audience mix. Low/High ranges reflect the realistic negotiation spread creators encounter, adjusted for channel size, engagement, and placement.

Niche CPM (Low) CPM (Benchmark) CPM (High)
Finance Top $70 $100 $150
B2B SaaS Top $55 $80 $120
AI / Machine Learning Top $50 $70 $110
Business $40 $60 $90
Education $35 $50 $75
Tech $30 $45 $65
Fitness & Health $25 $40 $60
Beauty & Fashion $20 $35 $55
Gaming $18 $30 $45
Entertainment $12 $20 $35

"30k Views / Video" column assumes 30,000 avg views, 30-second integration, global audience. Calculated as (views ÷ 1,000) × benchmark CPM.

The 5× spread between finance ($100 CPM) and entertainment ($20 CPM) is the most important data point for creators considering a niche pivot. A finance creator with 20,000 average views earns the same sponsorship rate as an entertainment creator with 100,000 views. For creators with flexibility in topic focus, shifting to business, finance, or tech-adjacent content is the single highest-ROI change available.

4

Sponsorship Rates by Geographic Audience

Audience geography is the second-largest driver of sponsorship rates after niche. Brands pay dramatically more to reach US, UK, and Canadian audiences because these markets have higher per-capita incomes, higher consumer spending, and stronger brand conversion rates. A channel with 50,000 average views but a US-heavy audience (60%+ from USA) will command the same sponsorship rate as a channel with 90,000 average views with a global mixed audience.

The multipliers below are applied to the base rate calculated from niche CPM × average views. A finance creator with 30,000 average views has a base 30-second integration rate of $3,000 at global audience — but $6,000 at a US+UK+Canada audience composition.

Audience Geography Rate Multiplier Rate Index
US + UK + Canada 2.0×
200
US-Heavy (60%+ USA) 1.8×
180
Global Mix 1.0×
100
Southeast Asia 0.65×
65
Primarily India 0.45×
45

Finance creator example: 30,000 avg views, 30-second integration, $100 CPM base. Example rates = (30,000 ÷ 1,000) × $100 × multiplier.

For Indian and Southeast Asian creators, this geography discount is the primary bottleneck to higher earnings. The most effective strategy is to create content that attracts international (especially US) viewership — English-language titles, topics relevant to a global audience, and thumbnail copy that does not signal a regional context. Even shifting from 90% India to 70% India audience composition can materially improve rates.

5

Engagement Rate Multipliers

Engagement rate — typically measured as (likes + comments) ÷ views × 100 — is the third-most important factor brands evaluate when setting sponsorship budgets. A high engagement rate signals an active, loyal community that watches and interacts, rather than passive algorithm-driven viewership. Brands targeting conversion (not just impressions) weight engagement heavily.

The average YouTube engagement rate in 2026 is approximately 2.5–3.5% for channels under 500k subscribers. Channels above 1M often see sub-1% engagement due to the algorithmic subscriber-to-viewer gap. Creators with consistent 5%+ engagement rates should actively highlight this metric in brand outreach and media kits.

Engagement Rate Band Multiplier Rate on $1,000 Base
Under 1% 0.70× $700
1% – 3% (Average) 1.00× $1,000
3% – 6% (Above Average) 1.30× $1,300
6%+ (Exceptional) 1.60× $1,600
6

Sponsorship Rates by Placement Type

Not all sponsorship placements are equal. A dedicated video — where the entire video is about the sponsor's product — commands 2× the rate of a standard 30-second integration, because the brand receives full creative real estate rather than sharing the video with other content. At the other end, Shorts mentions receive a steep discount because the format provides limited conversion opportunity and the audience skews toward passive browsing behavior.

Placement multipliers are applied to the base rate, which is calculated from niche CPM × average views × geography multiplier × engagement multiplier × subscriber authority multiplier. The 30-second integration is the industry standard and serves as the baseline (1.0×).

Placement Type Multiplier On $1,000 Base
Shorts Mention 0.30× $300
Livestream Mention 0.50× $500
30-Second Integration 1.00× $1,000
60-Second Integration 1.40× $1,400
Dedicated Video 2.00× $2,000

A common creator mistake is accepting Shorts sponsorships at the same rate as regular video integrations. The 0.30× multiplier is not arbitrary — Shorts have no mid-roll ad breaks, shorter watch time, and lower brand recall than long-form content. If a brand wants to sponsor a Shorts video, the rate should reflect the inherently lower conversion value of that placement.

Fastest Growing Sponsorship Niches in 2026

Sponsorship CPM is not static — it is driven by brand advertiser demand, which shifts with investment cycles, technology adoption curves, and consumer spending trends. Three niches are seeing exceptional growth in 2026 that is expected to continue through at least 2027.

AI & Machine Learning

$70 CPM +56% since 2024

The single fastest-growing sponsorship niche. AI companies — from frontier model labs to productivity tools — have massive marketing budgets and are competing aggressively for creator inventory. B2B software and enterprise AI tools in particular are paying CPMs of $80–$120 to reach tech-literate, professional audiences. Creators in this niche who established early audience trust are seeing bidding wars among AI companies for their sponsorship slots.

B2B SaaS & Software

$80 CPM +45% since 2024

Enterprise software budgets have shifted significantly toward creator-led marketing as traditional B2B channels (conferences, trade publications) lose effectiveness with younger decision-makers. The B2B SaaS niche rewards creators who attract founders, product managers, marketing professionals, and engineers. Lifetime customer values in SaaS ($500–$50,000+ ARR per enterprise customer) justify premium sponsorship rates that most consumer brands cannot match.

Finance & Fintech

$100 CPM +18% since 2024

Finance remains the highest absolute CPM niche, with sustained growth driven by fintech expansion, crypto market recovery, and the proliferation of personal finance apps competing for user acquisition. Banking, brokerage, insurance, and crypto platforms all treat YouTube creator sponsorships as a primary acquisition channel. Finance creators with verifiable return audiences (regular viewers who act on financial recommendations) command the highest per-view rates in the YouTube ecosystem.

Year-Over-Year CPM Changes: 2024 vs. 2026

Two years of benchmark data shows a clear trend: technology-adjacent niches are outpacing consumer content niches in sponsorship rate growth. The primary driver is B2B budget allocation — enterprise software and AI companies have dramatically increased creator marketing spend, while consumer packaged goods brands have not kept pace. Entertainment and gaming niches face particular pressure as supply (the number of creators) continues to outpace advertiser demand.

Niche 2024 CPM 2026 CPM Change
AI / Machine Learning $45 $70 +56%
B2B SaaS $55 $80 +45%
Finance $85 $100 +18%
